Hello, my name is Derrick. I started DMD in July 2008 and have been happily designing ever since. Starting with simple brochures and other print materials, DMD has grown to encompass all things creative - especially web design and flash animation. Whether you own a small business or are part of a large corporation, we have the tools, talent, and experience needed to make your next project a success.
My Strength...
Surprisingly, I would say that my strength is learning. A weird answer, I know, but my love of education and knowledge is what keeps me up to date in an industry that changes rapidly. It also helps me when it comes time to learn about your business or product so that your project not only meets your needs, but exceeds your expectations. My desire to constantly learn new things is what makes me different and keeps me fresh.
How Long I've Been Doing This...
Since the womb. Ok, maybe not, but even back in school I would sketch on everything and drive my teachers crazy. In college I got smart and found ways to turn assignments into paying gigs for clients. I also was able to land two incredible internships with Pierpoint Media and Seven2 Interactive where I learned the ins and outs of the design world from some of the best designers the industry has to offer.
Immediately following college I began working independently and spent some time in Seattle working for The Creative Group as a freelancer. After moving to Kalispell, Montana in 2008, we knew we had found the perfect place to establish DMD.
What DMD Has Done...
Pretty much everything. Seriously. Past projects include everything from video slideshows to billboard ads to signage and way-finding. Check out DMD's portfolio to see some of the things we have done and to get a feel for our unique style. Lately, a majority of the projects that we have been working on are either websites or identity systems for clients. In an economy like this, it is vital to establish your business with the use of graphics and displays to draw clients and interested parties in.
As far as websites and animations are concerned, our recent projects have been on the simpler side of things, often including only a few pages, photo galleries, or some basic flash elements. Just because a website is simple, however, doesn't mean it can't look good. If you choose DMD for your next project, we will make sure that the end result is something we can both be proud of and excited to show others.
